SIMA.CONNECT
The data backbone of public transport
SIMA.CONNECT is the central interface and data hub of the SIMA platform — VDV-compliant planned and real-time data, DEFAS integration, GTFS for Google Maps & co., and IBIS for bus-internal communication all run through a single module.
Data flows between on-board computer, control centre, information systems and third-party systems are centrally configured, monitored and versioned. Existing fleets, new vehicles and external systems work together without platform replacement.
Functions at a glance
-
DEFAS — planned and real-time data
Integration with the nationwide DEFAS data hub via the established VDV standards: planned and information data (VDV 454 AUS / REF-AUS), dynamic passenger information (VDV 453 DFI), visualisation data (VDV 453 VIS) and connection assurance between modes (VDV 453 ANS).
-
Google-Maps (GTFS & GTFS-Realtime)
From the timetable inventory we generate publication-ready GTFS and GTFS-Realtime feeds. Lines, trips and real-time data land where passengers already plan — Google Maps, Apple Maps, third-party information systems.
-
IBIS and IBIS-IP on the vehicle
Control of indoor and outdoor displays, destination signs, voice announcements, validators and other on-board systems via classic IBIS (VDV 300/301) or modern IBIS-IP (VDV 301-x / 305-x).
-
ITCS/RBL integration
GPS position, trip progress and status messages from the on-board computer flow to the control centre — as the foundation for dispatch, connection assurance and real-time information.
Benefits at a glance
Complexity stays with us
VDV, IBIS, GTFS and DEFAS are demanding in the detail. You get the result — we keep the standards complexity in the background.
Stay connectable
Open standards instead of island solutions — existing fleets, new vehicles and external systems all play along without a platform swap.
Visibility for passengers
From the on-board computer through the in-bus display to the route in Google Maps — passengers see the same, up-to-date data.
