2D barcodes as a carrier medium for online and print tickets. SIMA issues VDV-KA and etiCORE barcodes and inspects them — including issuer certificates and blocklists, also offline. We additionally support Motics barcodes and the rail industry's UIC codes under standards 918.3 and 918.9.

Chip cards as a carrier medium for travel authorisations — from issuing through ongoing administration to inspection. Both the older VDV-KA standard and the newer etiCORE are supported, including blocklists and background systems.

The established standard for interoperable eTicket authorisations in Germany — from association subscriptions to authorisation on chip card or smartphone. Defines the data model, security architecture and background systems. SIMA masters issuing, background systems and inspection.

etiCORE
VDV successor to VDV-KA
The newer VDV successor standard that is being rolled out step by step. SIMA supports etiCORE tickets in issuing and inspection and supports parallel operation with VDV-KA during the transition phase.

ITCS (RBL) & DEFAS

All relevant operating and timetable data run together via the ITCS and are consolidated through our system. Scheduled and information data per VDV 454 (AUS / REF-AUS) as well as real-time data per VDV 453 (DFI, VIS, ANS) are provided for DEFAS via our SIMA.CONNECT interface.
